My name is Daman Wandke and I am currently a senior at Klahowya Secondary School in Silverdale, WA. I have cerebral palsy and I am physically challenged. I created this program after experiencing firsthand how people stereotype against people with disabilities.
My goal is to break down these stereotypes through education. We are all equal and need to treat each other as equals. The foundation of the curriculum started what a Disability Awareness Day I developed and planned at my school which was a major success in December 2005 and was proven sucessful in December 2006 at five schools. This web site is will give you more information about the DAMAN Project and general information about people with disabilities. The fiscal sponsor of the DAMAN Project is Positive Solutions, a 501(c)(3) organization. Please remember that the Civil Rights Movement is not over, the Civil Rights Movement for people with disabilities is just begining.
Sincerely,
Daman Wandke
