The DAMAN Project

We have the Americans with Disabilities Act, but a law cannot break down stereotypes. Education is the only method of breaking down these stereotypes. Disability Awareness needs to be a part of each high school's curriculim. The DAMAN Project created a Disability Awareness Day curriculum for secondary schools to break down stereotypes. We gave the students the oppurtunity to simulate having a disability and attend their regular classes. This one day opened many eyes and changed many people lives that day and in the future. We challenge you to host a Disability Awareness Day at your school. To help you meet this challenge, we have created a Disability Awareness Day Manual that you can order.
